Hendrik Johannes Nicasius de Vries or better known as Nyck de Vries, is a Dutch racing driver who is to make his debut for Scuderia AlphaTauri in 2023. Born on 6 February 1995 in Uitwellingerga, Netherlands, the 27-year-old driver has been a reserve driver for the Mercedes AMG F1 team till 2022.

The Dutchman made his F1 debut in the 2022 Italian Grand Prix. He finished the race in points, which was massively impressive. He is the winner of the 2020-21 Formula E championship and the 2019 FIA Formula 2 championship. Moreover, the new AlphaTauri inductee has also been the 2010 and 2011 Karting World Champion.

Ultimately in 2019, de Vries managed to pull up four victories in the F2 season and be crowned as the champion. Apart from these, the Dutch star also took part in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2018-19 with Racing Team Nederland to compete in the LM2 category.
